Walk Kids

Raising up young believers who love Jesus and love others

Faith Formation classes are meeting in person again. Children in preschool-5th grade will meet during the 9:00 service.

Faith Formation

During our 9:00 service

During our 9:00 Sunday service we host our age-specific Faith Formation classes. During these times, we focus on engaging lessons from the Bible and one-one-one discipleship. We ask questions and give every kid the opportunity to engage with the lesson.

Currently we are using resources from Disciple Land which uses an intentional, relational, and transformational study of God’s word to create “Disciples for life.” We love this curriculum because it engages our children in a way that is thoroughly biblical and applicable to their current stage of life.

Common Questions

What should my kids wear?

We want children and families to feel comfortable coming to church just as they are. After all, we do not want to impose any barrier from you or your child from engaging with God’s word. You and your children are welcome in whatever clothes you feel best suit your needs. Something comfortable may be especially nice during Children’s Church, which is where we often participate in fun activities or games.

What safety precautions are in place?

The safety of our children is always the number one priority. All volunteers are required to have a background check, and all classes are either taught with two teachers or with one teacher while the door is open and the Director of Faith Formation is supervising. Children are not permitted to leave the children’s areas until parents come to pick them up.

Who are the teachers?

We have an excellent team of volunteers from our church who help to lead our children each weekend. When your child is in a Faith Formation class, a background checked volunteer will be leading them. When your child attends Children’s Church, our Director of Faith Formation, Beth Greiner, will lead and supervise the time.

How can I get involved?

We are always looking for people who are eager to teach children the Word of God! If you are interested in volunteering to be a teacher for Faith Formation, help with Children’s church or other children’s ministries, we would love to have you join our team of volunteers! Prior to assisting, we will need to complete a background check and will work with you to understand what areas are best suited for your unique gifting. Contact Beth Greiner for more information.
